Wilwood Disc Brakes

   

Wilwood friction Pads are manufactured for drag racing.  In general, soft sticky pads that work best in a low to medium temperature range are best suited for drag and pro street cars.  Medium pads can handle high temperature extremes and wear longer without fade.

"BP-10" Compound:  A street/strip compound that combines low dust and noise with the increased friction of a semi-metallic racing compound.  Characteristics include good low to middle temperature wear rates, smooth engagement, consistent response and a flat torque curve throughout the temperature range.

Poly "B" Compound:  A race only, medium-high friction brake compound with good cold response.  A long wearing pad in middle temperature ranges with moderate wear in sustained high heat conditions.  When high mile per hour fade has occurred with lower temp pads, this is the pad to use.

Poly "C" Compound: A race only compound, use on any lightweight vehicle, including dirt applications, with high mechanical advantage brakes to prevent wheel lock-up in marginal traction conditions. Medium to medium high friction compound with soft middle temperature response and a gradual rise to a flat torque curve as temperatures increases.

Poly "E" Compound:  Designed for drag cars with iron or steel brake rotors.  Medium friction compound delivers the best overall wear characteristics in the medium temperature range, offering smooth engagement, consistent response and a flat torque curve throughout the range.
